Stiltner Family Recipes
Caramel Bread Pudding
- 6 slices bread (day old cut into 1/2 inch cubes)
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 4 eggs, well beaten
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Place bread in greased 2 quart baking dish. Combine the water and brown
sugar and pour over the bread. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over
the bread. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 - 60 minute, or until a knife near the
center comes out clean.
Serve with whip cream or ice cream. (My guys like canned milk over it
I used some old homemade bread one time and this was the best bread
pudding I have ever made.
